New Samsung Laser Printer Multifunction - Samsung Electronics took the No. 1 position in the A4 laser multifunction printer (MFP) market globally in the third quarter of 2009, a performance driven by its strategic focus and innovative approach to this fast-growing market segment.

According to figures from market research firm IDC, Samsung Electronics captured 27.3 percent of the global market for A4 sized laser multifunction printers, topping the industry for the second consecutive quarter.

In A4 monochrome laser MFPs, Samsung rose above the global competition with a 26.5 percent market share. On a geographical basis, Samsung was the market leader in every region with the exception of North America, obtaining a 29.3 percent market share in Europe, 39.9 percent in CIS, 20.1 percent in China, 34.1 percent in Southeast Asia, 34.6 percent in Latin America and 40.6 percent in the Middle East and Africa.
